Executing steps and flows within the CXFabric editor allows you to validate and test your workflow configurations effortlessly. Whether you're refining individual components or running entire workflows, the execution process provides real-time feedback on the functionality and performance of your designed processes. This capability not only ensures that each step operates as intended but also facilitates seamless integration and automation across your applications and services.
When you need to test a single component or node within your workflow, executing a step comes in handy. This feature allows you to isolate and run individual parts of your workflow, providing targeted insights into their functionality. By executing steps, you can validate inputs, outputs, and logic, ensuring that each component behaves as expected before proceeding with broader testing or deployment.
Open the Editor: Launch the CXFabric editor where your workflow is configured.
Add and Configure a Component: Add the desired component to the canvas and configure its settings as needed.
Execute the Step: Hover over the component on the canvas, then click the play button to execute the step.
On the other hand, executing a flow enables you to assess the entire sequence of actions within your workflow. This holistic approach allows you to observe the end-to-end behavior of your workflow, including how different components interact and the overall outcome of the process. By executing flows, you can identify bottlenecks, errors, or inefficiencies across the entire workflow, facilitating comprehensive testing and optimization efforts.
Open the Editor: Access the CXFabric editor where your workflow is set up.
Create a Workflow: Design and configure your workflow by connecting nodes and setting up their parameters.
Execute the Workflow: Click the play button located on the command bar to execute the entire workflow.
After executing steps or a workflow, you can access detailed execution logs to gain insights into the process's execution and performance. These logs provide valuable information for debugging and troubleshooting, helping you identify and resolve issues effectively. Additionally, CXFabric offers features to toggle the visibility of execution logs, allowing you to manage your workspace efficiently and focus on the task at hand. Click the "Logs" button on the command bar to hide or show the execution logs panel.
In the Execution Logs panel, you have the option to switch between two different views:
Timeline View: Displays executions on a timeline, offering a visual representation of the sequence of operations.
Table View: Presents execution data in a tabular format, providing detailed information and logs in a structured layout.
By following these steps and utilizing the execution logs effectively, you can manage and monitor the execution of your workflows in CXFabric with ease.
